Sweet Places 2nd at District Advances to Regional Meet

The Benedictine Cross Country Team finished 9th of 17 schools with 247 points at the District Meet at Madison High School on Saturday, October 21. This completes team competition for the squad with a cumulative season record of 130 wins and 74 losses; for a winning percentage of 64%. Top finishers were Anthony Sweet (2nd), Ian LaForest (48th), Will March (55th), Ryan Plisko (67th), John Poston (75th), Jack Kane (78th), and Kris Mallett (85th).Setting Personal Records were Sweet (16:47), LaForest (18:27), Plisko (19:01), Poston (19:20), and Kane (19:26).

Anthony Sweet ran a confidently even race as the entire field came back to him as they slowed: running 70th at three-quarters-of-a-mile, 47th at one-mile, 12th at two-miles, and he officially caught the 2nd place runner at the finish line. Anthony Sweet will compete in the Regional Cross Country Meet at Boardman High School at 2:15 pm on Saturday, October 28.
