The Benedictine Bengal varsity baseball team came out victorious over Gilmour Academy 5-1 on Thursday 4/19. In the second inning, Gilmour Academy got their offense started. An error scored one run for the Lancers. Freshman Ben DeMell started the game for Gilmour Academy. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out six and walking one. Senior Logan Wright threw one and one-third innings in relief.
Billy Boehlke led things off on the mound for the Bengals. He surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out five. The Bengals racked up seven hits in the game. Senior Matt Finucan and Junior Connor O’Donnell each collected two hits at the plate to lead the Bengals.
