Football Falls to Lake Catholic, 27-20

A blocked FG for a score by sophomore Devon Fox and a 90 yard interception return by Keith Williams were not enough to defeat Lake Catholic on Friday evening. The Bengals offensive score came on a TD pass to junior Michael Lacey. Benedictine returns to action on Friday night at Padua at 7:00PM.

In a back and forth contest, the Bengals prevailed in the final minute with a game winning field goal by John Dosen. In a defensive battle, the Bengals came up short to Columbus Bishop Watterson, 10-7. The Bengals lone score came on a 34 yard pass completion to sophomore Devon Fox in the second quarter. North Coast League Play begins on Friday, September 30 with the Bengals hosting NDCL at Bedford Bearcat Stadium at 7:00PM.

The Bengals fell in their 2016 opening campaign to Youngstown Ursuline, 33-32. Offensively, the Bengals were led by DeCavilon Reese’s 141 yards rushing and 2 TDs.
