Hockey Begins State Tournament on Saturday, February 22nd at Brooklyn!

Benedictine Hockey Team will play Strongsville High School on Saturday, February 22nd starting at 7:30 pm.  The state tournament game will play at the John M Coyne Recreation Center, 7600 Memphis Ave, Cleveland, OH 44109.  It’s also known as the Brooklyn Ice Arena.  Good luck Bengals!

Luke Faulisi Qualifies for the State Diving Tournament!

Junior Luke Faulisi has qualified to compete in the Division I State Diving Championships.  The Championships are on Saturday, February 22, 9:00 am at the C.T. Branin Natatorium Canton McKinley High School.  Good luck Luke!

“Signing Day” for Student-Athlete Football Players.

On Monday, February 10, three young men signed letters of intent.  Jalen Edwards signed with the University of Findlay.  Charles Rosser signed with Bowling Green State University.  Levi Fair will join the Navy.  Congratulations gentlemen and enjoy your journey.

Hockey Baron Cup Begins Thursday, February 12th.

Bengals Hockey will start their Baron Cup run on Thursday, February 12th at the Brooklyn Ice Arena, located on 7600 Memphis Ave.  The puck will drop at 7:30 pm against Hudson.  The Bengals finished the regular season with a 10-13 record. Come out to Brooklyn on Thursday to support the Bengals!

Chuck Malberti and Luke Faulisi qualify for District Diving Tournament!

Congratulations to Senior Chuck Malberti and Junior Luke Faulisi for qualifying for the Division 1 District Diving Tournament, next Thursday, February 13th at Cleveland State.  Malberti finished in 5th place and Faulisi finished in 6th place at the Solon Sectional Diving Tournament on Wednesday, February 6th.

Bengals Hockey defeats Cleveland Hts, 2 to 1!

Bengals defense fights off a flurry of shots in the last few seconds, Cleveland Heights went without a goalie and our defenders we’re outnumbered. Tristan Cotter,  our goalie had a tremendous game fighting off numerous shots at the end of the game. Two goals scored by freshmen Evan Bleick and Senior Michael Wilks. Indoor Track Team with First Place Heat Finishes!

Lott, Conkle, Rodgers, and  Boyd all had first finishes in their heats.  Boyd, Conkle,  and Rodgers had great 4×2 and 4×4 times.  Times that could qualify the Bengals to the indoor state championship.

Varsity Bengals Basketball defeats the Kenston Bombers!

The varsity basketball team defeated the Kenston Bombers 99 to 73.  Sophomore Detric Hearst lead the Bengals with 30 points.  The JV and Varsity will travel to Cleveland Central Catholic on Friday, January 10th, for a 5:30 pm tip off.

Bowlers finish Fourth at NCL Tournament.

At the North Coast League Bowling Tournament Friday the following Men of Benedictine made the NCL All League Teams: Bryce Brand was selected for the All NCL 1st team bowling 568 and Chris Rice was selected for the All NCL 2nd team bowling 542. Benedictine placed fourth as a team. Congratulations to all bowlers!

Bengals take 2nd Place at Columbia Invitational Wrestling Tournament.

Bengals wrestling team finished in second place at the Columbia Invitational Tournament. Matthew Stauffer 1st Place 152 lbs. Jacob Dolan 4th Place 120 lbs. Henry First 4th Place 126 lbs. Shareef Williams 2nd Place  132 lbs. Marty Williams 2nd Place 195 lbs. Ronald Williams 2nd Place 220 lbs. Thomas Jolly Jr. 3rd Place 285 lbs.

Bowling Team defeats CCC at NCL Tournament.

Bengals defeated CCC at the NCL Tournament in Chardon at Ernst Lanes.  Bengals team total was 2559 and CCC was 1629.  Nate Mitchell bowled a 226 in the third match

Matthew Stauffer 152 lbs. Champion and MVP at Maple Hts. Wrestling Tournament!

The Bengals Wrestling Team finish in fourth place at the Maple Hts. Wrestling Tournament.  Senior Matthew Stauffer won the 152 lbs weight class and the tournament MVP!  That’s Matthew’s second first place finish this season.  He was the 152 lbs champion at the Independence Wrestling Tournament.  Nick Abounader won the 138 lbs weight class.  Ronald

Varsity Basketball Team defeats Cleveland JFK.

Jashun Cobb led the Bengals with 20 points.  Eric Buckner had 13 and Detric Hearst and Ja’Waun Howard finished with 12 points.  The Bengals defeated Cleveland JFK,  100 to 23.

Varsity Basketball Team wins in Toledo.

Varsity basketball team defeats Toledo St. Francis 57 to 55.  Detric Heart lead the team with 15 points.  Jashun Cobb finished with 13 points.  Bengals Varsity and JV will play on Friday, December 27 at home verse Cleveland JFK.  JV tip off is at 5:30.

Bengals defeat VASJ in a NCL Match Up!

The Bengals traveled to Viking Village and defeat VASJ, 89 to 66.  Jashun Cobb lead the team with 23 points.  Detric Hearst had 16 points.

OHSAA Winter Sports Pre-Season Meeting, November 25

The OHSAA Winter Sports Pre-Season Meeting will be held on Monday, November 25 at 6:00 pm in the school cafeteria.  Any parents or guardians that have a young man playing a winter sport must attend.

Even though the varsity football season has ended, the Bengals had a tremendous turn around.  2018 they finished the season with a 4 and 6 record.  The Bengals made it all the way to the regional semi-finals and finished with a 10 and 2 record.  The future looks bright for the Bengals!
