The Varsity Soccer Team has had their opening game postponed. Thursday, August 27 was scheduled to be the first game for the varsity soccer team on the road at University School. The athletic department is working on rescheduling the game in September.

Senior Kelan Mayberry will continue his track career at Tifffin University. Kelan competes in 200 meter, 400 meter, and 800 meter track events. Tiffin University is located in Tiffin, Ohio, roughly 90 miles southwest of Cleveland. Good luck Kelan with your next chapter.
Saturday, March 7 at Spire in Geneva Shaun Valentine finished in 8th place in the 400 meters out of 24 runners. Chris Gales, Angelo Lott, Shaun Valentine, and Kelan Mayberry took 8th place in the 4 x 4 relay out of 24 teams.
This past weekend Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th the four qualifying Bengal Wrestlers competed for a ticket to the State Championship in Columbus. Unfortunately they didn’t qualify for states but they battled hard. Jacob Dolan wrestled at 120 lbs and was eliminated in the third round consolation match and finished his freshmen season

Four Bengal Wrestlers have qualified for the State District Tournament this Friday and Saturday, March 6th and 7th at Norwalk. Jacob Dolan placed third at 120lbs. Bengals opened up the OHSAA D1 Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, February 26 against Lakeside Dragons. The Bengals outscored the Dragons in the first quarter, 27 to 14. The Bengals sectional tournament game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 26 starting at 7:00pm. The Bengals will take on Lakeside Dragons at home. Ticket prices are $7.00 for adults and seniors and $5.00 for students. This prices are set by the OHSAA.

This past Saturday, Junior Luke Faulisi finished in 14th place in the D1 State Diving Championships. The diving championships were lead at the C.T. Branin Natatorium at Canton McKinley. Congratulations Luke!

Congratulations to Senior Chuck Malberti and Junior Luke Faulisi for qualifying for the Division 1 District Diving Tournament, next Thursday, February 13th at Cleveland State. Malberti finished in 5th place and Faulisi finished in 6th place at the Solon Sectional Diving Tournament on Wednesday, February 6th.

Lott, Conkle, Rodgers, and Boyd all had first finishes in their heats. Boyd, Conkle, and Rodgers had great 4×2 and 4×4 times. Times that could qualify the Bengals to the indoor state championship.
Nick Abounader finish in second place at the C.I.T. in the 138 lbs weight class. Matthew Stauffer finish in third place in the 145 lbs weight class.

The varsity basketball team defeated the Kenston Bombers 99 to 73. Sophomore Detric Hearst lead the Bengals with 30 points. The JV and Varsity will travel to Cleveland Central Catholic on Friday, January 10th, for a 5:30 pm tip off.
At the North Coast League Bowling Tournament Friday the following Men of Benedictine made the NCL All League Teams: Bryce Brand was selected for the All NCL 1st team bowling 568 and Chris Rice was selected for the All NCL 2nd team bowling 542. Even though the varsity football season has ended, the Bengals had a tremendous turn around. 2018 they finished the season with a 4 and 6 record. The Bengals made it all the way to the regional semi-finals and finished with a 10 and 2 record. The future looks bright for the Bengals!
