The varsity football will open the 2020 OHSAA Playoffs on Friday, October 16th.  The Bengals will host the game at their old stomping grounds at Cleveland Heights Field.  They will take on Willoughby South at 7:00 pm.  Good luck Bengals!

No. 1 Hoban survives No. 5 Benedictine, 31-24

The Bengals (2-1) never led, but they twice had drives late in the fourth quarter with a chance to tie the score.  Ronnie Schultz hit junior Marvin Conkle on a 38-yard TD pass. Freshmen Defeat St. Vincent St. Mary 30 to 20

The freshmen defeat Akron St Vincent St Mary 30 to 20 on Bossu Field.  Luke Reed rushed for three touchdowns and Julius Robinson rushed for two.  Congratulations

Varsity Bengals Earn Their Flying B’s!

The Bengals defeated Warren G. Harding on Saturday night, August 29.  The final score was 24 to 17.  Senior Ronnie Schultz connected with Junior Marvin Conkle on two long touchdown passes.  The Bengals to travel to Akron SVSM on Friday, September 4th for a 7:00pm kickoff.

Freshmen Bengals Fall in Home Opener, 22 to 16

On Thursday night, August 27 the baby Bengals fall to Warren Harding 22 to 16 on Bossu Field under the lights.  Luke Reed and Julius Robinson score the Bengals two touchdowns.  Hard fought effort by the Bengals.

Golf Team Defeats Cleveland Hts

Congratulations to the golf team on defeating Cleveland Hts, today, Wednesday, August 26, 213 to 246.  Derrick Faulisi metaled with a 47. Great job Bengals.

Bengals Soccer Game Against US has been Postponed

The Varsity Soccer Team has had their opening game postponed.  Thursday, August 27 was scheduled to be the first game for the varsity soccer team on the road at University School.  The athletic department is working on rescheduling the game in September.

Bengals will Travel to Mollenkopf Stadium for Week 1

Bengals will open their 2020 Football Season at Mollenkopf Stadium in Warren, Ohio. The Bengals will play Warren G. Warding High School on Saturday, August 29.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.  The freshmen will play Harding at home on Bossu Field on Thursday, August 27 with a 6:00pm start time.

Golf Team Defeats Trinity at Highland

The golf team defeated Trinity, on Thursday, August 13 at Highland Park Golf Course, 195 to 214.  The team members are Corey Misconish, Ryan Plisko, Michael Pelc, Derrick Faulisi, Nickolas Vitintonio, and Eric Smith.  Great job MOB.

Golf Starts the 2020 Season at The Nordonia Classic

The varsity golf team will open their season on Monday, August 10th, in the Nordonia Classic starting at 9:00 a.m.  The Classic will be held at the Ellsworth Meadows Golf Course, in Hudson.

Kelan Mayberry Commits to Tiffin University

Senior Kelan Mayberry will continue his track career at Tifffin University.  Kelan competes in 200 meter, 400 meter, and 800 meter track events.  Tiffin University is located in Tiffin, Ohio, roughly 90 miles southwest of Cleveland.  Good luck Kelan with your next chapter.

Indoor Track Team Competes well at State Finals!

Saturday, March 7 at Spire in Geneva Shaun Valentine finished in 8th place in the 400 meters out of 24 runners. Chris Gales, Angelo Lott, Shaun Valentine, and Kelan Mayberry took 8th place in the 4 x 4 relay out of 24 teams.

Wrestlers Battle Tough at Norwalk Districts!

This past weekend Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th the four qualifying Bengal Wrestlers competed for a ticket to the State Championship in Columbus.  Unfortunately they didn’t qualify for states but they battled hard. Jacob Dolan wrestled at 120 lbs and was eliminated in the third round consolation match and finished his freshmen season

Bengals Qualify for Indoor State Track Meet!

This Saturday, March 7th the Bengals Indoor Track Team will compete in three events at Spire in Geneva starting at 9:oo am. Four Wrestlers Qualify for Districts!

Four Bengal Wrestlers have qualified for the State District Tournament this Friday and  Saturday, March 6th and 7th at Norwalk. Jacob Dolan  placed third at 120lbs. Nick Abounader placed second at 138lbs. Matthew Stauffer placed second at 152lbs. Thomas Jolly Jr. placed third at 285lbs. Congratulations MOB and good luck Friday and Saturday at Norwalk.

Bengals defeat Lakeside in the Opening Round of Playoffs!

Bengals opened up the OHSAA D1 Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, February 26 against Lakeside Dragons.  The Bengals outscored the Dragons in the first quarter, 27 to 14.  The Dragons hung tough throughout the game.  The final score was 68 to 64.  Senior, Jashon Cobb lead the Bengals with 21 points.  The Bengals will play Brush

Basketball Tournament Game: Wednesday, February 26 at Home!

The Bengals sectional tournament game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 26 starting at 7:00pm.  The Bengals will take on Lakeside Dragons at home.  Ticket prices are $7.00 for adults and seniors and $5.00 for students.  This prices are set by the OHSAA.

Varsity Basketball Team defeats Hoban, 66 to 62!

Detric Hearst and Jashun Cobb each had 19 points to lead the Bengals.  Eric Buckner finished with 14 points.  The Bengals finished the regular season with a 12 and 10 record, 4 and 4 in the NCL.

Hockey Begins State Tournament on Saturday, February 22nd at Brooklyn!

Benedictine Hockey Team will play Strongsville High School on Saturday, February 22nd starting at 7:30 pm.  The state tournament game will play at the John M Coyne Recreation Center, 7600 Memphis Ave, Cleveland, OH 44109.  It’s also known as the Brooklyn Ice Arena.  Good luck Bengals!

Luke Faulisi Qualifies for the State Diving Tournament!

Junior Luke Faulisi has qualified to compete in the Division I State Diving Championships.  The Championships are on Saturday, February 22, 9:00 am at the C.T. Branin Natatorium Canton McKinley High School.  Good luck Luke!

On Monday, February 10, three young men signed letters of intent.  Jalen Edwards signed with the University of Findlay.  Charles Rosser signed with Bowling Green State University.  Levi Fair will join the Navy.  Congratulations gentlemen and enjoy your journey.

Hockey Baron Cup Begins Thursday, February 12th.

Bengals Hockey will start their Baron Cup run on Thursday, February 12th at the Brooklyn Ice Arena, located on 7600 Memphis Ave.  The puck will drop at 7:30 pm against Hudson.  The Bengals finished the regular season with a 10-13 record. Come out to Brooklyn on Thursday to support the Bengals!

Chuck Malberti and Luke Faulisi qualify for District Diving Tournament!

Congratulations to Senior Chuck Malberti and Junior Luke Faulisi for qualifying for the Division 1 District Diving Tournament, next Thursday, February 13th at Cleveland State.  Malberti finished in 5th place and Faulisi finished in 6th place at the Solon Sectional Diving Tournament on Wednesday, February 6th.

Bengals Hockey defeats Cleveland Hts, 2 to 1!

Bengals defense fights off a flurry of shots in the last few seconds, Cleveland Heights went without a goalie and our defenders we’re outnumbered. Indoor Track Team with First Place Heat Finishes!

Lott, Conkle, Rodgers, and  Boyd all had first finishes in their heats.  Boyd, Conkle,  and Rodgers had great 4×2 and 4×4 times.  Times that could qualify the Bengals to the indoor state championship.

Varsity Bengals Basketball defeats the Kenston Bombers!

The varsity basketball team defeated the Kenston Bombers 99 to 73.  Sophomore Detric Hearst lead the Bengals with 30 points.  The JV and Varsity will travel to Cleveland Central Catholic on Friday, January 10th, for a 5:30 pm tip off.

Bowlers finish Fourth at NCL Tournament.

At the North Coast League Bowling Tournament Friday the following Men of Benedictine made the NCL All League Teams: Bryce Brand was selected for the All NCL 1st team bowling 568 and Chris Rice was selected for the All NCL 2nd team bowling 542. Benedictine placed fourth as a team. Congratulations to all bowlers!

Bengals wrestling team finished in second place at the Columbia Invitational Tournament. Matthew Stauffer 1st Place 152 lbs. Jacob Dolan 4th Place 120 lbs. Henry First 4th Place 126 lbs. Shareef Williams 2nd Place  132 lbs. Marty Williams 2nd Place 195 lbs. Ronald Williams 2nd Place 220 lbs. Thomas Jolly Jr. 3rd Place 285 lbs.

Bowling Team defeats CCC at NCL Tournament.

Bengals defeated CCC at the NCL Tournament in Chardon at Ernst Lanes.  Bengals team total was 2559 and CCC was 1629.  Nate Mitchell bowled a 226 in the third match

Matthew Stauffer 152 lbs. Champion and MVP at Maple Hts. Wrestling Tournament!

The Bengals Wrestling Team finish in fourth place at the Maple Hts. Wrestling Tournament.  Senior Matthew Stauffer won the 152 lbs weight class and the tournament MVP!  That’s Matthew’s second first place finish this season.  He was the 152 lbs champion at the Independence Wrestling Tournament.  Nick Abounader won the 138 lbs weight class.  Ronald

Varsity Basketball Team defeats Cleveland JFK.

Jashun Cobb led the Bengals with 20 points.  Eric Buckner had 13 and Detric Hearst and Ja’Waun Howard finished with 12 points.  The Bengals defeated Cleveland JFK,  100 to 23.

Varsity Basketball Team wins in Toledo.

Varsity basketball team defeats Toledo St. Francis 57 to 55.  Detric Heart lead the team with 15 points.  Jashun Cobb finished with 13 points.  Bengals Varsity and JV will play on Friday, December 27 at home verse Cleveland JFK.  JV tip off is at 5:30.

Bengals defeat VASJ in a NCL Match Up!

The Bengals traveled to Viking Village and defeat VASJ, 89 to 66.  Jashun Cobb lead the team with 23 points.  Detric Hearst had 16 points.

OHSAA Winter Sports Pre-Season Meeting, November 25

The OHSAA Winter Sports Pre-Season Meeting will be held on Monday, November 25 at 6:00 pm in the school cafeteria.  Any parents or guardians that have a young man playing a winter sport must attend.

Even though the varsity football season has ended, the Bengals had a tremendous turn around.  2018 they finished the season with a 4 and 6 record.  The Bengals made it all the way to the regional semi-finals and finished with a 10 and 2 record.  The future looks bright for the Bengals!
