John Carter has devoted more than 16 years to athletic leadership, serving as Director of Athletics at Fairview Park City Schools and Oberlin City Schools before taking on his current role at Benedictine High School. A student-centered athletic administrator, he serves on the Executive Board of the Northeast Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NEOIAAA), represents ethnic minorities on the Northeast District Athletic Board (NEDAB), and is a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Directors through 2028. His leadership and impact have been recognized with several prestigious honors, including the Citation Award in 2022, the Bruce Brown Award of Excellence in 2024, and the NEOIAAA Athletic Director of the Year in 2025.

Samantha Wentz serves as the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Benedictine High School. Entering her 5th year in the strength and conditioning profession, she brings experience at both the collegiate and high school levels, having previously served as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at Walsh University and as the Director of Strength & Conditioning at Perkins High School.
A former collegiate volleyball player at Walsh University, Wentz earned bachelor's degrees in Exercise Science and Psychology from Walsh and a Master’s degree in Sports Performance Coaching from Setanta College in Ireland. She holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USAW Level 1 Coach (USAW-L1), and High School Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (HSSCC). She is a member of the National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA).
Wentz is passionate about developing student-athletes through strength training, leadership, nutrition, recovery, and character development. She is excited to help lead, coach, and mentor young men throughout their four years at Benedictine while teaching habits that support success both in athletics and throughout life.

Brian McLaughlin has devoted more than 15 years to athletic leadership, serving as Athletic Director at Gesu, The Diocese of Cleveland CYO and Hawken before taking on his current role at Benedictine High School in July 2022.
Brian has 30 plus years of coaching experience at the Middle School and High School level in football and basketball. Brian is also a Certified and Accredited Interscholastic Coach as well as a USA Football Player Safety Coach.
He is a member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and the National Federation of State High School Associations.
