Bengals defeat SVSM 24-13 on Senior Night

With a playoff berth on the line, the Bengals took care of business, defeating St. Vincent-St. Mary 24-13 for the second straight year.

Benedictine set the tone early as Kayden Forte returned the opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown. Later in the first quarter, Iacampo connected with Antowine Smith on a 55-yard pitch and catch to extend the Bengals’ lead to 13-0.

The Irish battled back, finding the end zone twice to keep things close, but Benedictine’s ground game proved too much to handle. Forte and Blair combined for 138 rushing yards on 21 carries, helping the Bengals control the clock and seal the win.

The Men of Benedictine finish the regular season 8-2, earning a playoff berth for the third consecutive year. Their first-round opponent is yet to be determined.
